Head Of The Cyber Security Council: The Approval Of National Policies In The Field Of Cyber Security Strengthens The Regulatory Framework Of The State In This Vital Sector.
His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Al Kuwaiti, Head of the Cyber security council of the UAE Government, said that the adoption by the UAE Cabinet, chaired by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, of a number of national policies in the field of cyber security contributes to strengthening the country's regulatory framework, approach, and orientations in this vital sector.
His Excellency said that the national policies in the field of cyber security are the National Policy for the Security of the Internet of Things (IOT), the National Program for Cyber security Accreditations, the National Cloud Security Policy, and a package of related policies that aim to enhance complementarity and effectiveness in providing forward-looking solutions related to cybersecurity challenges resulting from technological development, reducing the number of serious incidents by "20%" and promoting the adoption of technology.
His Excellency added that the national policies in the field of cyber security included defining a common approach for responding to cyber security incidents, providing the main directives for the cybersecurity system in order to protect the UAE cyberspace, and establishing a successful accreditation system that operates according to strict standards to build confidence in the system of cyber security service providers in the country, in addition to forming National Committee for Combating Cyber Threats and Malware.
